Long break
Sunday, 14 September 2014 @ 22:00 | 0 Comment [s]
I have stopped writing for 10 days. I was too busy with a lot of things, especially assignments. September is a tough month for me since I have two assignment to be submitted and three mid semester test to be taken. October is going to be better with only one mid semester test and three assignments. Think November is a much better month? Maybe not! Even though I have only one mid semester test, I have final exam!
I am also busy with some clubs activities, upcoming events for me is Open Day, visiting a long house, afterschool project, MUN.CS conference and Curtin Olympic. For Open Day, I am going to handle CYA booth. For after school project, I am still searching for any relevant dates to meet the students. I want to join MUN.CS conference once again this semester and I am a volunteer of Curtin Olympic and a camp in long house.
That's all my activities for this semester, perhaps.

Last week my room mate bought some cakes for all her house mates, and she said that she did that because she had no chance to celebrate our birthdays this year. Indeed she is a very active student in Curtin furthermore our birthdays were on holidays and free week.
Last week was tiring. Welcoming new students to Curtin, I need to undergo a lot of process to help them. From finishing and completing all forms, applying student pass for them, any registration for examples.
The effort of searching for textbook also made through out this week. Better to search earlier because the later the harder. Each textbook costs me around RM200 so I am trying to search for alternatives such as second hand textbooks.
Next week our assignments will start and I am preparing mentally and physically for all assignments that I will face :)

I am so glad that I joined MUNCS. I actually have pulled my name out from the program because I think that I won't be able to make it. But then, I survive! And what's even better, the other participants are all rock! They are so friendly. Even the committees are so friendly and I manage to befriend to most all of them.
Even nowadays when I walk by in campus and meet them, I will try to talk to them because I think it is awesome to keep in touch with them.
I think I am one of the shortest person in the conference. See in the picture? I am the shortest in the picture of course! But I think its cute! Don't you think so? haha
To my future daughters and sons, don't afraid to take any challenges. Just do it You will regret those challenges that you didn't take. At least, just give it a try, man!

The third day for MUNCS is even harder. When the conference is getting more serious, at the same time I have to think for what I should do to introduce Argentina to the judges for Global Village.
As usual, last minute production, no no don't follow my bad habit please.
On final day of conference, we have to come out with some recommendation. We debate our best ideas, we choose the best, that's tiring of course.
This is one of my material for the exhibition during the Global Village, just some quick facts of Argentina.
My hands move too much during the presentation but I don't care. What important is the judges smile!! Thank you haha

Model United Nation Curtin Sarawak is an event organised twice a year which participated by students where the participants will attend a two-day-conference from 8am to 5pm. Looks scary? Nooo but tiring of course.
Conference starts at 9 am, have to be there at 8 am for breakfast, but slept at 4 am. Why? I feel that I need to do more research for the conference. When I prepared myself to the conference, I realised that I have awful eye bag so I wore a thin layer of eye liner on my eyes to cover it.
This is how my conference looks like. It consists of 20 delegates from 20 countries and I am representing Argentina. Don't cry for me Argentino. Ha!

I actually have no idea what to say. I put myself in the list to speak but I say nothing new, just the same thing again and again. Haha. That is so crazy but as a newbie, they told me that I am okay actually.
I have the opportunity to meet with those who are experienced with the conference and listen to them more during tea time than I talk during the conference actually. Maybe I can say that this is just a warm up so next year I can join again. Eh?

This is my first time joining Model United Nation. What I understand, Model United Nation (MUN) is a practice which shows how the real united nation conference looks like. If in debate, it shows how a parliament looks like, so MUN shows how United Nation conference looks like.
To learn more about MUN, I actually search for videos in Youtube. But I only understand more when I attend the workshop which was organised one day before the conference start.

See how focus I was in the workshop? Because I only understand the real view of the conference in the workshop. Thanks to Venkatesh for delivering a good speech during the workshop.
Model United Nation is participated by students, usually university students. The benefit of joining MUN is to develop good communication skill and confidence. MUN will also enhance the participants to get to know the global current issue. For example, my conference was talking about "Extraordinary Rendition - CIA". What is that?????? That was my first expression when I receive the topic.
If you are a university student, love to talk a lot, love to seek more general knowledge, you are encouraged to join this! Try to search one in your area. There are a lot of MUN happens in Kuala Lumpur, according to one of my friend.

Wednesday, 11 July 2012 @ 12:53 | 0 Comment [s]
It has been a while I celebrate myself because my application on MARA loan is accepted. Now I only have 3 days and counting before flying to Miri. Curtin officer has called me several time for some reasons. It is all about the registration. Oh ya, last week I had applied my passport (Dokumen Perjalanan Terhad). A problem popped out when I have to make a new Identity Card cause I am 18. So how will I pick my IC when it is ready? I have to go back to Peninsular? Owh (money flying)
So I refer this problem to JPN Putrajaya HQ. My first time referring my problem, they told me that I can't change my pick up centre. The second time I refer they told me the same. They also said that I should tell the officer on the day I was applying the IC about the changing of pick up centre. What? I have informed them that I will be going to Miri but they do not tell me that I can apply for the changing of pick up centre. sigh. The third time I refer this problem ( oh my how stubborn I am) and they called me back. They asked me to write and fax a letter and I was glad to hear that. Now I should wait until my application is accepted. Labels: Irons in the fire Dokumen Perjalanan Terhad

Previously, an officer from Curtin has asked me to prepare a temporary passport before flying to Miri which costs RM 5. Just now, on 8.01 am I called Pejabat Imigresen Batu Pahat (07-4351173) to confirm what to brng and what to do before applying the passport. They (two officers talk to me) tol me that the passport that Curtin University officer asked me to do is Dokumen Perjalanan Terhad. Here are some info that I get from the website 1. The document is for Malaysian from Peninsular Malaysia who wants to stay in Sabah or Sarawak for more than 3 month. 2. It is only for 5 years or else you have to renew it or apply for 10 years ( I am not sure which one) 3. need to bring - a form (can be downloaded or just get it from the counter) - 2 passport photo - the document if you want to renew it - MyKad/Kad Pengenalan Tentera/Kad Pengenalan Polis/Kad Pengenalan Sementara if you are 12 and above - Birth Certificate for under 12 application - Yourself (you have to come) 4. It cost you RM 5 So I think I will be going there this Monday :) Labels: Irons in the fire Stamping A Tax Revenue Stamp

It was my first time stamping a tax revenue stamp, I have no experience of doing this. While I was completing some documents of MARA, I noticed that I have to do something with the agreement letter.By reading the guidebook carefully, I found a statement sounds like this -
"Anda perlulah mematikan setem hasil (RM10) pada setiap set surat perjanjian pada bahagian atas kanan muka depan perjanjian tersebut"
On top right of each MARA Loan Agreement Letter I have to stick a stamp which costs RM10 each. So what I have to do is go to any Post Office to buy 4 x RM10 stamp. I have to stick them on each copy of agreement letter. Then, I went to LHDN Office for the stamping process (which is usually called as mematikan setem hasil)

Yesterday (11 June 2012) morning my mother informed me that Eduloan Mara Webpage was available and I was able to log in. However, my profile is empty: no document prepared for me yet. So, I wait until midnight and then the documents were available. My problem was that my computer has no PDF Adobe Reader and my printer had some technical problems. I saved all documents and asked my father to help me print them in his office
This is the list of documents need to be printed. When I received all the documents, I feel like a personal assistant of a CEO of a grand hotel. I need to settle down a lot of things.
